I grew up drinking a Chocolate Banana Smoothie with breakfast. It’s quick, simple and it’s a drink people of any age can enjoy.

Chocolate Banana Smoothies go great with pancakes, donuts, cake. Basically, it goes great with just about any pastry.

Not a Milkshake?

Growing up I thought a blended drink that has milk as the base was a milkshake. The first time I made Chocolate Banana Smoothies for my husband and I, I learned differently.

After standing there silently watching me make and serve the drink he said,” I thought you were making us milkshakes.”

“I did. Here.”

“This isn’t a milkshake, it doesn’t have ice cream in it.”

I was so confused. In my mind the drink had milk and it was blended so it was a milkshake. My husband very quickly Googled what a milkshake is. Turned out I’d never actually had a milkshake in my life ever. That weekend we went out for milkshakes, turns out I like smoothies way more than milkshakes.

Funny Story…

I remember the first time I ever made this smoothie all on my own. I felt so grown up (I was around 7 years old) and mature. My first thought was ” I can cook now. That means I’m grown up, I’m big now”.

I thought making a smoothie meant I was mature enough to watch a movie my parents had forbidden me to watch. That weekend I stayed up late and watched “Chucky” for the first time. I knew I was doing something wrong so I had the tv almost on mute and sat in bed watching the movie.

It was the worst deicision I could have made.

I was terrified of Chucky for years and I never slept in that room comfortably again.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe Instructions

Add 2 cups of milk to your blender. Peel and break bananas in half, drop into blender.

Bananas and 2 cups of milk
Sugar and Chocolate Syrup

Add sugar and chocolate syrup. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 bananas, peeled and cut in half
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup

Directions

  1. In a blender add 2 cups of milk, bananas, sugar and syrup.
  2. Blend until smooth about 1 minute.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
